Since the TED Center 's inception, it has been our personal goal
to provide all of the services required for any business to
succeed. Whether you're a one man operation or a corporation, we
provide only the highest quality services at a fraction of the
cost. Being a non-profit, we are able to pay for our services
via other business ventures, leaving only a certain percentage
to be paid by you.
In addition to the use and availability of state-of-the-art
technology housed in the Center, trained professionals will also
provide "hands-on" training and valuable seminars. Topics
include graphic design, research methods and web site design and
development, which are all critical for achieving business
growth today. Since the Grand opening on April 16, 2003,
approximately 100 local residents, students and small business
owners have taken advantage of the
computer skills training opportunities we've made available.
Classes are offered daily and designed to meet individual needs.
Saturday classes are also offered for business professionals who
desire to take advantage of the training opportunities we offer.
The Technology and Skills Center consists of a basic and advance
training lab designed to assist or enhance client skills to
include financial management skills, business plan development,
word processing, spreadsheets and PowerPoint presentations. It
also includes a high-end graphics lab focusing on marketing
assistance ( Website, Graphics for Business Cards and Brochures
and Video Editing ). Our vision is to become a “ One Stop Shop ”
for clients and the local community with specific needs. We've
recruited experienced individuals and students from local high
schools and universities to provide the necessary services on a
contractual basis. We will continue to provide basic and
advanced computer training for residents from low-income
targeted neighborhoods, local community-based organizations,
housing clients, youth entrepreneurial program participants,
board members and staff as well as serving as a mentor for other
technology providers.
We realize the image of a non-profit is that of a low budget,
please don't let this confuse you, we are equipped with the
latest equipment and training to handle any problem that may
arise.
